About Halifax TV Mounting
One service, one person, fixed prices. Here is who shows up and how the hour goes.
Who we are
Halifax TV Mounting is the TV-mounting arm of ALTERBUILD, a Halifax home-services business. Vlad is the technician. He has worked as a handyman across HRM for years: decks, kitchens, drywall, flooring, and more TVs than he can count.
In 2026 we gave TV mounting its own name, its own number and a public price list. Most people who called did not want "a handyman". They wanted the TV on the wall today, level, with no wires showing and no surprise on the bill. So that is the whole offer.
How a job goes
- You tell us the TV and the wall. By calculator, text, WhatsApp or phone. A photo of the wall and the outlet gets you an exact price in minutes.
- You get a 2-hour window and a text with Vlad's name when the van is on the way.
- Shoe covers on, drop cloth down. Vlad walks the wall with you: where you sit, how high the centre should be, where the cables will go.
- Studs are found twice. Once with an electronic stud finder, once with a pilot hole behind the bracket, so the lag bolts go into wood, not drywall.
- Bracket up, levelled with a laser and a bubble level, then pulled on hard before the TV goes anywhere near it.
- TV on, cables connected, picture checked, wall vacuumed, boxes taken away. About 45 to 60 minutes on drywall.
- You look at it. Then you pay. Cash, e-Transfer, debit or credit card. No deposit, ever.
What is in the van
Stud finder, laser level, torque driver, hammer drill with masonry bits, snap toggles and sleeve anchors for concrete, metal studs and brick, lag bolts in three lengths, paintable cable channel, in-wall rated HDMI, recessed power kits, fixed, tilt and full-motion mounts for 32 to 85 inches, a vacuum, and a second pair of hands for anything over 65 inches.
What we will say no to
- Running a power cord inside the wall. Code does not allow it. We use a recessed power kit instead, which passes inspection and needs no electrician.
- Mounting a TV on a bracket that is not rated for its size or weight, even if you bought it already. We bring a rated one and credit you the difference in time.
- TVs over 100 lb without a photo check first, and anything outdoors.
Why the prices are public
A TV mount is a predictable job. The size of the TV, the type of wall and what you want done with the wires decide the price, and all three are things you can tell us from your couch. Hiding the number behind "request a quote" only wastes your afternoon. The full price list and calculator are on the main page, and the number you see there is the number on the invoice.
