TV Mounting in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Updated: October 2026

TV mounting in Dartmouth costs the same as in Halifax: $99 for TVs up to 43 inches, $129 for 44 to 65 inches and $179 for 66 to 85 inches with your own mount on drywall, and there is no travel fee for crossing the harbour. We cover downtown Dartmouth, Crichton Park, Woodlawn, Portland Hills, Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage, same-day most days. Older brick and plaster downtown, 1970s drywall in Woodlawn and Portland Estates, and concrete in the waterfront condos each get the right anchors at a known price.

What walls are common in Dartmouth homes?

Older houses downtown and in Crichton Park. Built between 1900 and 1950, these have plaster over wooden lath and often a brick chimney breast in the living room. A stud finder reads nothing useful on plaster, so we find the studs with a magnet and a pilot hole and use 3-inch lags: +$20. A TV on the brick itself gets sleeve anchors into the brick body, not the mortar: +$79. Our plaster guide and brick and fireplace guide show the method.

Woodlawn, Portland Estates, Cole Harbour. Drywall over wood studs at 16 inches, the easiest wall there is and the standard $99 to $179 price. What changes the job here is the gas fireplace: Portland Hills and Cole Harbour have more of them than most of HRM, and a TV above one needs the heat check and a tilt mount, +$69.

Waterfront condos and newer townhouses. King's Wharf and the other harbour-front buildings are poured concrete or precast: hammer drill, sleeve anchors, dust shroud, and wires in a paintable channel because there is no cavity, +$59 for the wall. Russell Lake West and Montebello townhouses often have metal studs in the party walls, which take snap toggles instead of lag bolts, also +$59. See concrete and metal studs.

How soon can you come to Dartmouth?

Same day most days if you book before noon, and evenings up to 10pm every day of the week. We group Dartmouth jobs so the van is already on your side of the harbour, which is why an afternoon slot in Cole Harbour or Eastern Passage is usually easy to find. A drywall job takes 45 to 60 minutes; brick, concrete or in-wall wiring take 1.5 to 2 hours. We text when we are on the way and arrive within a 2-hour window, or $20 comes off.

Do you charge a travel fee across the bridge?

No. Dartmouth, Cole Harbour, Eastern Passage, Westphal and everything else on this side of the harbour is Halifax Regional Municipality, and the whole municipality is one flat price with no travel charge. The same is true of Bedford, Sackville and Hammonds Plains. The only places we quote a travel fee are outside HRM, such as Chester, Windsor or Truro, and we tell you that number before you book. Text or WhatsApp the address to 782-446-6322 if you want to be sure.

Questions from Dartmouth customers

Do you charge more in Cole Harbour or Eastern Passage than in Dartmouth?

No. Every address in Halifax Regional Municipality is the same flat price with no travel fee, whether it is downtown Dartmouth, Cole Harbour or Eastern Passage.

Can you mount a TV on the brick in an older downtown Dartmouth house?

Yes, +$79. We drill into the body of the brick with a masonry bit and set sleeve anchors, never into the mortar joints. If the brick is soft or spalling we tell you before we start.

Do you work in King's Wharf and other waterfront condos?

Yes. Concrete walls add $59 for the anchors and the dust control, wires run in a paintable channel for $49, and we ask about elevator bookings and quiet hours before we arrive.

Can I book an evening or a Sunday in Dartmouth?

Yes. We work every day from 9am to 10pm, and evening slots on the Dartmouth side are often the easiest to get because we are already nearby.
